Lady Ellen
164' square topsail schooner. Steel hull with a heart of wood
A guided tour on onboard
November 2007
The ship has been put to sleep for the winter - let's have a look at this sleeping
beauty..!

All furniture, deck equipment etc. are stored inhouse for the winter.

The deck house with the bar and access to the accomodation, engine room etc. Made of steel
and clad with wood.

Aft of the deck house we find the outside steeering position on the raised aft deck

Now looking aft at the closed wheel house
Inside the wheel house

From here there is access to the three crew cabins in the aft ship.
Let us go down on the main deck and visit the bar:

Welcome inside where the temperature is kept at approx plus 18° C during the winter - in
all sections of this magnificant ship..!

GA-plan showing the main deck

The bar area has a guest toilet opposite the companion way to the lower deck. If you look
at the ga-plan above you will also see the access to
the engine room right aft of the bar.
Let's visit the engine room:

From the bar there is access to the crew cabins in the raised aft section of the ship
located above the engine room

Actually the three lockers in the drawing are now a double berth with another one aft (not
shown)
In the drawing this is actually shown as the owners cabin..!

There are 8 berths in the aft section of the ship
Back up in the bar we can now go down to the lower deck in the fore ship to the section
marked A

Everything you see comes with the ship - except the model on the wall..!
The tables can unfold to become two long tables - like this - with space for 28 guests

Here is a panorama view of the salon:

Let me show you some of the cabins in the ships fore section:
Right up front we have a cabin "Skansen" with 8 berths - and aft of this the
mess room that can be converted to 4 berths

The red cabin
The above two cabins are located right next to the mark "A" in front of the
galley.

Notice also the cabin right below "A" - allso with adjoining bath room.

The cooks cabin and bath room located next to the gally
Here is the gally in the ship's bb side.

This ended the guided tour inside "Lady Ellen" - there is so much more to
be seen for "those few chosen" who can afford a ship like this.
Let's go sailing: LINK
