36' Classic Yacht "Carita III"

 Complete restoration between 1996 and 2002


On the 18th of May 2002, after years of hard work, Carita III was re-launched in presence of a piper to emphasize
her Scottish roots and her third owner, who was very impressed by her looks! Some weeks after the re-launch,
she was re-rigged with her new sails. In addition the owners have tested her thoroughly in her 'maiden' trip to France.

She proved to be a very trustworthy and excellent sea ship on which one can stay very comfortably for a longer period of time.
The large double bed in the forepeak is definitely an asset. But the roomy galley and navigation corner also contribute
quite much! Carita can be sailed single handed, but with two she handles like a dream.

Maintenance
Between 1996 and 2002 complete restoration.

Planks and ribs renewed where necessary. Deadwood and keel-bolts etc. replaced.
Hull sheeted in epoxy. New bulwarks and deck and back part of saloon and cockpit renewed.
Mast re-glued, new boom. All sails, standing rigging, nautical equipment, electrical installation, etc. etc. has been newly installed in '02.

Upholstering interior renewed in 2002. Rudder, rudderstock and rudder-trunk and all seals are new in 2002.
All outside stop valves en tubes are new in '02. Last time on slip: 2002
Last maintenance engine: 2002 Engine newly placed and aligned. New tubes, air inlet, control cables, flexible engine mounts, valves etc.

Work to be expected: Toilet seals need to be replaced.
Fixing the knevels in cockpit floor (knevels are available)
Piston rings will have to be renewed within two years.

Other points of notice: In the last couple of years, Carita has been overhauled completely.
Costs never were an object to restore her to her original beauty.

We are looking for a new owner who will keep her in this state and
who will appreciate the history of the ship.
