Designed as "expedition yacht" for world wide operation the HYTEK 56 Ocean Rover will go anywhere in safety and comfort.
With a hull based on HYTEK's seaworthy fishing vessels, all developed for safe operation in the North Atlantic,
the HYTEK 56 is built and equipped to sail from the Tropics to the (ant)Arctic.

With an ice strengthened steel hull, four (4) watertight bulkheads and positive stability through 180 degrees of heel,
the built-in safety of the vessel equals that found only in much larger ships.

Diesel electric propulsion with a father/son -arrangement offers:

the redundancy necessary for safe operation in far-away places through reduced vulnerability to single engine failure
a significant reduction of noise and vibration through the encapsulation of elastic mounted diesel engines
the possibility of matching loads with generated power for optimum fuel economy
improved performance and maneuverability in ice

The vessel is equipped with 24 V DC and 380 V AC electrical systems and can be heated or cooled to accomodate
outside temperatures ranging from -20 to +35 degrees. A passive roll reduction tank on the boatdeck contributes to a comfortable ride.

Accomodation is arranged with four (4) double cabins, three (3) toilet/bathrooms, separate galley,
room for washer/drier and a generously sized aft salon, but alternative layouts are possible.
